With this in mind, our researchers have developped the Citronella Spray Technology.
Based on disruptive stimulus not punishment, independent studies have shown that this technology not only outperforms electric shock and ultrasonic products but does so in a safe and humane way.
What is a disruptive stimulus ?
When your animal is misbehaving, he is following a certain patern of behavior. To break the patern, a disruptive stimulus is introduced in his surroundings. This disruptive stimulus is a brisk spray of citronella. Your dog hears it, feels it, sees it but most importantly smells it. Your dog will very quickly learn that when he misbehaves, a spray of citronella will quickly follow.
The technology inside our products.
The moulded plastic casing of the MultiVet trainer holds a reservoir of citronella that is fixed to a collar which is placed around the dog's neck. The casing also houses a micro-circuit that triggers a miniature valve releasing just the right amount of citronella spray from the reservoir. Depending on the application (anti-barking, containment, remote control, etc.) the citronella spray is released a fraction of a second after the unwanted behavior. Your dog is rapidly able to establish a relation between the scent spray and the behavior. This technology is endorsed by leading veterinarians, behaviorists and dog trainers.
Here's how it works :
The MultiVet Spray Barrier ™ training system has 2 components: an emitter dish and a spray receiver collar (sold separately). The emitter dish is plugged into a regular household 120 VAC power outlet. It generates a low frequency radio signal that is transmitted in all directions. As your pet approaches the emitter dish, the spray receiver collar will pick up the low frequency signal. The collar will at first emit a warning beeping sound to let your animal know it has reached the limit. Should he continue on, he will then receive a brisk spray of citronella. Multivet Spray Barrier tm must be used in conjunction with our spray receiver collars and citronella refills. |
